Fuck what Nicki Minaj says (See today’s Angie Martinez interview on Hot 97); there would be no her w/o Lil Kim; spread eagle crotch shots, candy colored wigs, Barbie doll impersonations, implants & all. Kim is, and always has been ill and, considering that Ms. Minaj was all of like 10 years old when the Queen Bee unleashed her brash, heavy, nasty-girl who can hang with the sickest n*ggas-  flow, she had to be influenced by the QB, whether she acknowledges it or not. We all know - Its obvious. Hope Kim comes back harder than ever and smashes all the naysayers out there who scream Team Nicki NOW, when they were still screaming Team Kim just a little while ago. At the very least, you numb-skulls could salvage a shred of loyalty by remaining neutral in all of this instead of transforming quicker than Clarence ‘High Top’ Brown did on the Bloods when he got locked up in Colors. 

I think Nicki is cool – skillful to say the very least. I don’t get down with a lot of her antics and I don’t agree with her presentation but I cannot take away the hard work, effort and self written, popularized, schizo-robot flow thing that has effectively and successfully set her apart from the rest. Although I sometimes wonder if she had never spread her legs for the camera or pretended to be bi, would she have gotten the same recognition, the same buzz, the same bidding war, the same record deal? If there was competition out there on the same level would she have the same hype, the same backing, the same coverage? Any way it goes she has mad catching up to do before she has anything REAL to say to Kim- Grammy winner, double platinum artist, 5 mic Source getter, insert any and all other accolades here. 

Sucks that women can’t get along long enough to support and uplift each other and edify our place in this God forsaken industry instead of fighting tooth and nail to drag the next one down. Territorial, insecure chickens! If you’re gonna go at one, go at them all – male or female – anybody should be able to get it. All U P-riders get a bar. Bandwagoneers.
